Almost a week has passed since the re-launch of the city’s casinos, and now Macau is ready for the opening of other entertainment venues, as well as catering outlets. Reported cases of Covid 19 have dropped to zero. This situation has been going on for nine consecutive days.
The results of the 14th round of testing for nucleic acids (a type of diagnostic test that detects a virus) throughout the city were negative. As a result, the government allowed the owners to operate entertainment establishments, as well as beauty salons, gyms, restaurants and other catering establishments. All of the above and many other objects will be officially open to the public from August 2.
Under a previous order from city officials, all establishments, including cinemas, theaters, indoor amusement parks, saunas, health clubs, bars and nightclubs, swimming pools and other such places, were closed to the public.

Now, to gain access to any facility, customers will be required to wear a face mask and show proof of their health in the form of a negative test result taken within the previous three days. In the coming days, the Macau health authorities will publish a detailed guideline with all relevant requirements.
The Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) government released a statement thanking the public for their understanding, support and cooperation during the lockdown and for the measures to combat Covid-19 introduced since June 18.
Authorities are asking the public to continue to comply with the new measures so that Covid 19 cases no longer appear in the city. All entertainment establishments in Macau, including casinos, are recording large losses and expressing hope that this was the last lockdown.
