Hacksaw Gaming, a popular iGaming developer for mobile devices, has announced that it has received a temporary license in the US state of West Virginia.
The company’s CEO Marcus Cordes said the event would mark the start of the company’s “coming expansion” into the US market. This is Hacksaw Gaming’s first license in America, but earlier this year the company was able to enter the North American market by obtaining a license in Ontario. The provider plans to launch in the US through a partnership with Light & Wonder as early as the first quarter of 2023.
The CEO of Hacksaw Gaming commented on the news as follows: “Shortly before we received permission to operate in West Virginia, in early 2022 we were granted a license in Romania and the Isle of Man. So we end the year as confidently as we started it. This is a testament to the quality of our games and shows how in-demand our content is.”
The regulated iGaming industry in West Virginia has shown great results over the past few months. The number of operators in the state increased by 60% in October, compared to the same period last year, and this is after a 12% increase in September.
