The European Poker Tour (EPT) is back in London with a massive schedule. The festival promises to be large-scale – the last time the champion title was played there in 2014, after which PokerStars revised the geography of their stops.
EPT London 2022 will take place at Hilton Park Lane from October 18-29. Players will not be able to pay for a room or cash. To participate, you will need to make a deposit to a special hotel card or make a transaction from the balance in the poker room.
Such a system is a protection against any illegal actions, including counteracting money laundering. A similar method began to operate at the infamous Crown Casino in Australia.
As part of EPT London, 12 tournaments will be played, which cannot be called budget. The cheapest buy-in is £1,100, with events between £10,000 and £50,000 occupying a key part of the schedule. There are 6 of 12 such events, and two more will cost the participants more than 10,000 pounds.
Recently, not a single stage of the EPT is complete without tournaments in the Mystery Bounty format. There will be two of them at the upcoming London stop. The first one with a £10,200 buy-in will open the festival, and a similar £3,000 buy-in event will take place a few days before closing. It’s notable that, in addition to random rewards, the envelopes will also include $30,000 Platinum Pass packages for the upcoming PokerStars Players Championship starting early next year.
The Main Event will run at the usual £5,300 buy-in with no guaranteed prize pool. Considering the location of the festival and the cost of buy-ins, EPT London will bring together the best players from around the world who will not miss the chance to put a couple of million dollars in prize money into their piggy bank.
